Ordering a taxi from Helsinki taxi centre is easy and uncomplicated. We are at your service every day of the year 24 hours a day.

Ordering a taxi

There are a few things the customer finds useful to consider before making the order:
 
•    what is the pick-up address?
 
Helsinki taxi centre aspires to dispatch a vehicle to even the most demanding addresses. The need for a taxi may arise anytime, anywhere. Please note, however, that the more detailed the given address is, the quicker and more reliable is your fare. Our dispatch system is based on GPS-locating and address registers.
 
•    is the order immediate or in advance?
 
If the need for a fare is immediate, please call 0100 0700.
 
For orders in advance the number is 0100 0600. The advance booking can be made at earliest two weeks and at latest half an hour before the desired pick-up time.
 

•    are there any special requests for the ride?

    It is recommended to mention about potential special requests right at the start of the phone call. They include need for a mini bus, need for small package delivery only, having a pet along, unusually distant destination, etc.

 •    use of a special pay card?

    Helsinki taxis accept most major paying – and credit cards. Should you use Visa Electron, please mention that while making the order. That way you will be sure to get a car that accepts it.


Advance booking

The number for advance orders is 0100 0600


•    For an early morning start or some other specific time, we recommend making an advance order.
 
•    The order should be made at earliest two weeks and at latest half an hour before departure.
 
•   
The order is put through to the cars well before pick-up time, thus allowing the taxi to arrive at the given address in good time.
 
•    The surest way to get a mini bus for a large group (max 8 passengers), an estate car for cargo transportation, or a driver speaking a specific language, is to make an advance order.
 
•    If the pick-up address is remote, scheduling for 15 minutes earlier might be a sound idea.
 
•    The taxi centre takes no responsibility if there are no cars available due to e.g. traffic jam or unusual weather.

The cost of an advance order is 6,40 €, and it will be added to the fare as shown by the meter.

 
The phone lines of the centre are busy
 

During worst congestions all our dispatchers may be occupied, and you will hear a recorded message advising to hold and wait.
Yes, hanging on the phone is a drag, but please do not give up, as even at worst times a dispatcher will be free at least after 20 seconds.
 
Phone queues can be avoided altogether by using e.g. text message service.

 
If the taxi will not come despite the order?
 

In normal situations it takes a few minutes for the taxi to arrive. If a considerable time has elapsed, there may be one of several reasons:
 
    weather conditions, traffic jams and closing times of restaurants delay the dispatches
 
    another client may have accidentally taken the taxi at the same address.
 
If the taxi has not appeared in 10 minutes or if there is no one at the address despite ordering in advance, the customer should contact the taxi centre immediately.
 
Please note that the order number given when making the order does not relate to a specific vehicle or licence plate, and it does not guarantee that there will be a taxi. The order number means that the order has been relayed to the dispatch system, from which the first available taxi will accept it.

 
Accountability for the order by the taxi centre

 

The taxi centre is responsible for relaying the order to vehicles. The taxi driver who accepts the order takes the responsibility of providing appropriate service to the customer.
