ServicesHelsinki taxi centre serves 24 hours a day each day of
the year. 
It conveys
taxi services to the whole metropolitan area. Customers can make a normal
order, advance booking, text message order, order for mini bus, cargo
transportation etc.
It is
useful to make specific requests while ordering, e.g. paying with credit card,
vehicle for five passengers, bringing a dog along etc. The dispatcher at the
centre will always try to find a suitable taxi for the customer.
PersonnelHelsinki taxi centre employs about 80 people. Some of
them work on regular basis as full-time dispatchers, some on hourly wages. The
centre runs on three shifts. One shift involves 6 – 20 people, depending on time
of day, seasons, and possible special events.
There are
five shift supervisors and regularly one is always at work. They are
responsible for the operational function of shifts, possible problem situations
and for keeping the taxi services running smoothly day and night.
