Taksi Helsinki currently has a total of 1419 taxi cars in its transmitting system (15.2.2010).

It is also possible to call a taxi with no sign or commercials for weddings or funerals etc.
We would like our clients to observe that starting 1.1.2008 a taxi cannot take more passengers than the registration allows – not even temporarily.
Please notice that all rides are non-eating, non-drinking and non-smoking rides.
Means of payment
We accept cash, banking cards, all major credit cards and paying cards (e.g. the Taksi Helsinki – card, the Taksiliitto taxi card, the Diners Club taxi card). Even Visa Electron is accepted in most cars, although it would be good to mention while ordering that you wish to pay with Visa Electron.
Taxi sign
Every Helsinki taxi has a sign with a serial number, hometown and a group number on the side.
Invalid taxis also have an inva-symbol on the taxi sign.

The taximeter is a measuring instrument that calculates and displays the fare based on the distance and the duration of the ride.
Taximeters can only be installed and serviced by authorised repair shops, as stated in 87 § of the vehicle law. After every set up, repair or updating the taximeter is sealed. The taximeter is programmed with calendar, time and updated fare data that enables it to automatically calculate the fare for each ride. The taximeter is connected to the tyres to ensure correct calculation of distance travelled.
All taxi cars are examined once a year. The motor vehicle examiner also examines the taximeter.

The security camera is fully automatic. Only the proper authorities have access to the photo material when there is reason to believe that a crime has been committed.
