Helsinki-card is aimed solely for companies and communities.
Taxi
Helsinki-cards are pay cards with magnetic stripes, and can only be used for
paying taxi fares. They are manufactured by Helsingin Taksi-Data Oy, who also
carries responsibility for transactions.
Taxi
Helsinki-card is valid in the metropolitan area taxis (Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, Järvenpää, Kerava,
Kirkkonummi, Nurmijärvi, Sipoo, Siuntio, and Tuusula) and also in taxis of
following cities:
Hämeenlinna,
Imatra, Jyväskylä, Kouvola, Kuopio, Lahti, Lappeenranta, Lohja, Mikkeli, Oulu, Porvoo, Rovaniemi, Tampere, Turku, Vaasa and Varkaus.
Pay cards
possibly distributed by the above mentioned cities are valid also in taxis of Helsinki.
Use of the
card requires a card-reading device in the taxi; it can be found in almost
every car. At the beginning of the ride it is always wise to ensure that the
card is accepted.
The Taxi Helsinki-card is available as permanent, ment for regular customers, and as one-trip version for occasional users.
Deals must
be made as with other credit card companies.
