Registration
The Taksi Helsinki app includes a wide range of useful features, such as adding different payment methods to the app. To access these features, you need to register as a service user. If you have already registered, you can log in with your credentials.
Using the app and ordering a taxi is not possible without registering.
How do I register my information in the app?
Select “Create an Account” or “Log in.” Click “Register” on the app’s login page and follow the on-screen instructions.
Payment Methods
In the “Payment Method” tab in the main menu, you can add various payment options, such as card information, mobile payment, or a billing account (for business customers). You can register multiple payment methods and choose which one to use at the time of ordering.
Can I trust that my card details will remain confidential?
Card details are stored in our payment partner Stripe’s system, and Taksi Helsinki does not see them at any point.
Strong Authentication
The Taksi Helsinki app has been updated to comply with the new EU Payment Services Directive requirements, which took effect on January 1, 2021. As a result, strong customer authentication is mandatory for all electronic payment transactions, such as online payments.
The strong authentication requirement is based on the EU Payment Services Directive (PSD2). The aim of the update is to improve card payment security and reduce the risk of fraud. In the future, card details alone will generally not be enough for online purchases. In addition, customers will be required to authenticate themselves, for example, using online banking credentials, mobile certificates, a one-time SMS password, or fingerprint recognition.
Customers must confirm payments for taxi rides made through the Taksi Helsinki app using strong authentication.
When you select payment via a card saved in the Taksi Helsinki app (debit and credit cards), strong authentication is required.
- Strong authentication occurs when placing an order if you choose to pay with a card saved in the app (except for the Taksi Helsinki card, which does not require strong authentication).
- During strong authentication, the amount will be displayed to you.
- You will be directed to electronic authentication, which is done through online banking credentials or a mobile certificate, for example.
- After this, the order will proceed normally.
- After the ride, you will not need to confirm the final payment again; it will be automatically charged to your card.
Can I pay for the taxi ride with cash or a card directly in the taxi?
If you do not want the fare to be charged to a card saved in the app, you can choose “pay in taxi” as your payment method. This is also convenient if you’re ordering a taxi for someone else and don’t want to pay for their ride. The ride will then be paid for in the taxi at the end of the journey in the usual way.
How do I order a taxi?
The app automatically locates you. You can refine your location on the map, manually enter your address, select it from your order history, or choose from your favorites. Always make sure that the starting address based on the app’s location services is correct.
You must also enter the destination address for the app to generate a fixed price for the trip.
You can choose the type of vehicle you want from several options. In addition to standard cars and vans, the app offers options like premium cars and taxis suitable for pet transportation. If your vehicle preference isn’t available in the menu (such as a car with a child seat, wedding transport, or an accessible vehicle), please contact Taksi Helsinki’s service center directly at 0100 0700 (€2.90 + €0.25/10 s + local/mobile charges).
How do I know when the taxi is on its way?
The app will notify you when a taxi has been assigned to your order. You will also receive the taxi’s number, the driver’s name, and the vehicle’s identification details.
Once a taxi is assigned, you can track the vehicle’s arrival on the map. You can also call the driver directly if necessary and provide additional instructions for your pickup.

Once a vehicle has been assigned to your order, the app will provide the taxi’s identification details. Please ensure that you enter the correct taxi!

Please provide feedback after your ride by selecting the appropriate icon for your service experience. If you wish, you can also write additional detailed feedback.
How do I get a receipt for my taxi ride if I paid directly through the app?
If you paid for the ride with a card saved in the app or via mobile payment, you will receive a receipt immediately after the journey.
Can I cancel my order if necessary?
Pressing the “Cancel” icon will cancel the order until the taxi arrives at the pickup address.
